Antivirus Review – Which Antivirus Software Should You Use?
avast vpn netflix is not working
Avast Free Antivirus is a great option if you want an easy-to-use and robust antivirus program that safeguards all your devices as well as your online activities. Its malware detection rate is to par with the top in our tests, and other features like password management, file shredder and tune-up tools are available. However, the program consumes memory and may cause slowdown when analyzing large files or running programs.
The paid versions of Avast are a little more expensive, but they do provide some great extras including parental controls and an excellent browser extension that can help ensure your privacy. Additionally, you’ll get a decent amount of cloud storage which is handy for backing up files or creating an emergency restore point. There are many security suites to choose from, ranging from the entry level Antivirus Plus up to the top-of-the-line Total Security. They include a dedicated ransomware security and a user-friendly sandbox to test apps that are suspicious.
Kaspersky’s products are essentially variations of the same program. This is a distinct approach from other premium antivirus software. The main difference between larger versions is that they have extra features such as a built-in VPN and a password manager. They also add support for more devices, including a basic subscription offering protection on one computer, and up to five at the top end of the spectrum.
Sophos Home AV is a great value for money and the latest version performed well in our tests. It’s not as robust as other products however its minimalist interface is great for new users. If you’re looking to add more functionality you can expand the home products to cover more than 10 devices.
